My Digital Ink!

As I along with all every other owner of a television in the UK I pay my BBC licence fee I regularly question if it provides good value for money. While I normally don’t object to most BBC service this week was an exception.

On Monday when the US Federal Reserve reduced its rate, the BBC Six O’clock news failed in their ten minute ‘news’ report to actually mention either what the rate was or indeed what the drop was. So after ten minutes of shouting at the presenter I had to look the rate change up on the internet. So given how easy it is to give feedback to the BBC about their news service or indeed the complete lack of it, I sent them a short note about how they don’t seem to bother providing the news.

The following day I got an email from the producer of the BBC Newswatch programme explaining that they were going to run the story on their programme at the weekend. Here’s the link:

I think its fair to say that the old web page was looking a bit out of date and indeed in need of some TLC. I hope to use this space as a chance to experiment, complain and hopefully inform.
